- A Resource About Strange Skin Rashes
-

- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- During the summer months, the number of questions concerning the origins
- of strange skin rashes increases dramatically. In many cases the real cause
- for these mysterious and annoying problems is overlooked. But now there is
- help available.
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has just made a new publication
- available that may shed some "light" on the problem. It is entitled
- "Medications that Increase Sensitivity to Light: A 1990 Listing", and it was
- prepared by Jerome I. Levine, M.S., R.Ph of the FDA's Center for Devices and
- Radiological Health. Intended for both consumers and professionals alike, it
- provides a listing of medications and other agents that may increase your
- sensitivity to the ultraviolet rays in either sunlight or artificial light.
- The listing was complied from articles in the current scientific literature
- and will require periodic updating as new information becomes available.
- To obtain this publication (HHS Publication FDA 91-8280), write to FDA,
- Center for Devices and Radiological Health, HFZ-114, 5600 Fishers Lane,
- Rockville, MD 20857 (telephone: 301-443-7118).
